Responsibilities:
- Manage full cycle grants management activities beginning with pre-award assessments, monitoring, compliance and close-out procedures
- Analyze all sponsor requirements; ensure compliant preparation and submission of grant and contract proposals by applying sponsor guidelines and federal/state policies
- Assist with the development of strategies, and negotiating of terms and conditions and their documentation for sub-grants and contracts
- Maintain accountability with teams; coordinate programs activities to ensure adherence to implementation plans, deadlines, and grant lifecycle
- Effectively handle and administer multiple research awards; manage budget revisions, continued funding, provide financial updates and provide general financial assistance
- Collaborate with various offices within the research institute to perform tasks to maintain the grants, contracts and clinical trials within the portfolio
- Ensure project requirements, policies, and procedures are followed by internal staff
- Assist with other fundraising projects as requested
Qualifications/Background Profile:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration or related field required
- 5+ years of progressive experience in post award financial matters related to sponsored research
- Strong Knowledge in NIH Grants Policy Statement, FAR and DFAR clauses, Uniform Guidance, OMB Circulars and Single Audit (formerly A-133) and in addition to 45 CFR Part 74, Appendix E
- Experience with grants / projects administration and an ERP contractual and/or financial system is a plus
- Experience with systems used, including Huron Click, PeopleSoft Financial and Human Capital modules, Huron eCrt and Business Intelligence
- Extensive and/or comprehensive knowledge of the applicable OMB Circulars and other Federal regulations pertinent to grants and contracts accounting
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative analysis
- Requires attention to detail and the ability to operate with considerable independence to effectively establish priorities and work accurately under time constraints
