Summary

The MIL Corporation seeks a Help Desk Support II - Cabling Technician to support a Federal government client at one of our Washington, DC Metropolitan area locations.

Responsibilities
  • Experience installing Cat5e and Cat6 cabling systems in existing network environment
  • Experience with termination and testing of new cabling
  • Label cables for future identification
  • Operates a variety of tools, such as hand tools, power tools, ladders, and test equipment
  • Keeps cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standard
  • Provides documentation of all information on all cables and equipment
  • Completes required paperwork, such as: installation checklist, timesheets, service orders, and various other logs
  • Maintain a first-class level of customer service ensuring that all customers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner
  • Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to take ownership of issues, escalating incidents to other support teams where necessary
  • Highly motivated team player with the skills and ability to manage changing priorities
  • Ability to undertake other necessary duties not specifically stated without altering the nature or level of responsibility

Required Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to take ownership of issues, escalating incidents to other support teams where necessary
  • Highly motivated team player with the skills and ability to manage changing priorities
  • Ability to create, maintain and publish relevant support documentation in order to assist all staff in the quick resolution of their incidents and service requests and enable users to become more self-sufficient
  • Willingness to attend internal training as necessary to keep up to date with the latest technology and internal system processes
  • Ability to undertake other necessary duties not specifically stated without altering the nature or level of responsibility
  • Per federal guidelines, you may be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or willingness to obtain vaccination
