Sr Equity Research Analyst, Energy

Summary:
● Capital One Securities has an immediate need for a senior equity research analyst to join our research team with coverage responsibilities in the Alternative Energy sector. The ideal candidate will have experience working in sell-side equity research covering alternative energy and possess the ability to work within a team and on a self-directed basis, while demonstrating excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Location:
● Preferred locations: Dallas TX, Houston TX, McLean VA, New Orleans LA, New York NY

Responsibilities:
● Manage and maintain Energy coverage for companies across alternative energy
● Develop coverage targets aligned with banking strategy and investor relevance
● Produce sector and company reports and presentations for internal and external constituents
● Monitor multiple information sources on sector or company specific news items and trends
● Maintain macro and industry data series and company specific financial models
● Actively engage client and issuer C-suite executives directly to enhance platform value and
visibility
● Develop industry contacts and proprietary information sources
● Develop actionable investment ideas and proactively communicate through sales and outbound client calls
● Attend industry and company sponsored conferences and field trips
● Facilitate corporate access events
● Other duties as necessary

Basic Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree
● At least 3 years of financial modeling experience
● At least 3 years of experience in sell-side research
● FINRA licensed with valid Series 7, 63, 86, 87
Preferred Qualifications:
● Master's degree or CFA

● Advanced level of proficiency in financial tools including Excel, FactSet, Bloomberg
● Strong written and oral communication skills
● Experience leading meetings with company management teams and investors
● Proven ability to dissect company financials; perform valuation analysis
● Ability to multi-task and collaborate with multiple teams in a dynamic organization
● Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner
● 5+ years of experience in equity research in a lead role
