Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a Metric Analyst with demonstrated experience and comprehensive understanding of data collection and analyzation. Will be responsible for using Google Analytics and other data sources for reporting and implementation to support the education and outreach initiatives at Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Program Integrity (CPI). The Metric Analyst supports evaluation of efficacy of education and outreach efforts to inform continuous improvement of deployed strategies and tactics.

The individual in this role will be expected collect and analyze data to evaluate efficacy of outreach and education efforts across contract task areas. The Metric Analyst will need to design & automate data and analytics solutions to deliver meaningful product, traffic, and insights while preparing and automating analytical reports on a daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly basis. This role will also help identify and develop data collection strategies and visualization to support standard and ad-hoc reporting on KPIs.

To be successful in this position, the Metric Analyst will need to have strong customer interaction skills and a demonstrated ability to work with various stakeholders across multiple tasks. Experience with Google Analytics and integrating other data sources into reports, dashboards, and analysis documents is a must. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, proactive problem-solver and action-oriented team player. He/she must be committed to providing superior service, poised in a fast-paced environment and have a positive and flexible attitude.

This is an Associate-level, full-time position is located in Alexandria, VA. This position may also be remote.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Implement, maintain, and own the successful digital tagging and analytics measurement strategy for client's portfolio of digital products, including websites, blogs, mobile apps, and reporting applications.
  • Support all analytical platform implementations.
  • Manage the web analytics tag implementation, testing & reporting during the development of online media, marketing landing pages, websites, conversion funnels and other initiatives.
  • Support A/B testing via testing platforms such as Optimizely, Monetate or Google Optimize.
  • Work closely with various cross-functional stakeholders such as marketing, content, technology, events and advertising to capture the data needed to drive agency decisions.
  • Oversee the analytics code base, data layer, and tag management solution for accurate and efficient data capture.
  • Help conceptualize, design, build, and automate reports/dashboards that provide insights into the agency's audience (e. g. consumption, engagement, traffic).
  • Manage ongoing audience traffic and KPI reporting on a daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly basis, delivering insights and recommendations to both agency and content teams.
  • Provide data-driven feedback and actionable insights to our content teams regarding content/topic performance onsite & off-platform.
  • Identify agency objectives and map suitable analytics solutions, ensuring that all required performance data can be reliably tracked and reported.
  • Create user-friendly data dashboards and analysis reports that clearly communicate metrics data and insights
  • Collaborate with our digital design and development teams to ensure web analytics are appropriately considered and implemented on new digital projects


Minimum Qualifications

  • 4-7 years of digital marketing/analytics experience working with development teams, marketing teams, executives, and product managers.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related program.
  • Experience working with teams on campaign measurement planning, tagging, testing, and reporting.
  • Experience providing guidance and support for agency stakeholders and team members' requests for analytics services and reporting
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.


Desired Qualifications

  • Google Analytics 360/Google Tag Manager 360/Google BigQuery expertise.
  • In-depth understanding of website, app, and marketing metrics and KPIs.
  • Proficiency in analytics tools such as Tableau, R or Python, and Excel.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and Regular Expressions.
  • Data Engineering experience a plus.
  • Google Analytics Certified a plus.
  • Basic understanding of HTML & ability to troubleshoot code.
  • In-depth experience working with tag management platforms and data layers
  • Exposure to web diagnostic tools like Fiddler2, Charles Proxy, or Firebug a plus
  • Data Management Platform (DMP) experience a plus
