Job Summary
Aptive is seeking a full-time, versatile Communication Specialist with demonstrated experience creating engaging content for large-scale federal social and digital media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, blog channels, e-newsletters). To be successful in this role, this individual must use strategic communications consulting, research and storytelling to advance the goals and objectives of each campaign. The Digital Media Specialist must also have strong customer interaction skills, a deep understanding of digital media best practices and analytics, and a demonstrated ability to work with various stakeholders across multiple tasks.
Experience developing and delivering compelling, informative and well written content is a requirement. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, proactive problem-solver and action-oriented team player with previous experience translating complex information into plain language. He/she must be committed to providing superior service, poised in a fast-paced environment and have a positive and flexible attitude.
This mid-level, full-time position is currently fully remote. However, the communication specialist may be expected to travel to Washington, D.C. or other locations in the United States for meetings, events and trainings.

Primary Responsibilities
- Write, edit and manage a large volume of social media content for a variety of platforms, blog posts, blast emails, press releases and presentations.
- Develop content and recommendations for easy-to-understand infographics and data visualizations.
- Assist with the development of a comprehensive Communications Plan and Marketing Plan.
- Develop recommendations and content for a variety of traditional and digital communications products (e.g., fact sheets, videos, social media, user guides, checklists).
- Assist with in-person or virtual training events, as needed (e.g., event platforms, content for "how-to" videos, sharing videos through internal platforms).
- Work with the government and a website developer to provide recommendations for establishing and managing a user-friendly intranet site.
- Manage communications and correspondence related to social media.
- Oversee a comprehensive social listening dashboard, making improvements as needed.
- Analyze digital media key performance indicators and develop a comprehensive weekly engagement report to be briefed to government clients.
- Translate complex messaging into plain language to ensure materials are easy to read, understand and use.
- Gather, analyze, fact check and interpret data from various sources.
- Implement edits provided by clients and other team members effectively and quickly.
- Plan, generate and deliver client-ready materials for stakeholders, including client leadership.
- Write, review and edit content in compliance with AP style and other federal content guidelines.
- Assist with Aptive's new business development writing needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years of experience leading digital media campaigns.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience supporting large Cabinet-level federal agencies is ideal.
- Ability to work onsite in Washington, D.C. (or other locations in the United States) as needed.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
