Overview

The Senior Program Lead position at the Northwest Federal Credit Union (NWFCU) Foundation is responsible for planning, managing, and implementing all aspects of the Foundation's programs. The NWFCU Foundation programs are dedicated to transforming the lives of the children in the communities where our branches are located by organizing and sharing the credit union's expertise, resources and community to foster the health, education and well-being of children and families.

The Foundation endeavors to achieve these goals by:
  • Engaging employees and members in impactful volunteer activities benefiting youth and their families
  • Providing and increasing access to scholarships to lower barriers to post-secondary educational and training opportunities
  • Raising funds and providing grants to enable and support these activities

Responsibilities

  • Create annual program plan to meet goals and objectives set by Executive Director and Board
  • Research best practices and engage community members in needs assessment and planning to develop programs that meet the needs of the community
  • Manages all aspects of the Foundation's Scholarship Program
  • Set and meets application goals for all scholarship types
  • Develops and implements marketing program for scholarships
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteer scholarship judges
  • Design and manage selection process, organize scholarship luncheon, and design, implement and manage youth scholarship committee
  • Plan and implement mentoring and community engagement program
  • Integrates all program activities to build relationships and continuity between Foundation programs
  • Lead four basic needs drives per year to provide essentials to families in need in communities near our branches
  • Engage Credit Union employees to provide appropriate financial literacy programming at all levels of the program to help students and families develop their financial journey and how a credit union can be a partner to them
  • Develops and manages a budget that supports achievement of the programmatic goals set with the Executive Director and Board
  • Develop goals and indicators and track progress on programs on a quarterly basis
  • Establish goals and create plans to ensure community engagement in Foundation programs
  • Include stakeholders in planning processes to promote participation in Foundation activities
  • Develop materials announcing program activities and celebrating achievements to include in our marketing plan
  • Participate in Fundraising events to assist raising funds to support programs
  • Meet with donors to ask for gifts to support programs
  • Collect and document success stories for use in marketing and fundraising materials
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)

Qualifications

Required:
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in non-profit, youth development, public health, education, or social work; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work successfully in a diverse team environment
  • Ability to recruit, train and motivate community-based volunteers
  • Demonstrated ability in handling multiple priorities, project management and meeting deadlines; strong planning and organizational skills
  • Proven relationship building, persuasion and influence skills
  • Strong customer service orientation, with extensive experience in effectively addressing and resolving issues
  • Ability to proactively monitor and adjust activities to respond to changing circumstances and priorities to meet goals, proactively address issues as they arise and mitigate risks associated to events
  • Outcome driven; strong project management ability
  • Proficient in computer-based information systems
  • Adept in evaluation, data management, and interpretation
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently is required

Preferred:
  • Spanish language proficiency preferred
