Revenue SpecialistThe George Mason University, General Accounting Department is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person for a Revenue Specialist position. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Position:The Revenue Specialist performs a wide variety of duties to support financial processes and transactions, reconciliations and reporting. These include: (1) Reconcile deposits received in GMU bank accounts by Credit Card, Remote Check and EDI deposits to receipt data provided by the departments or Banner system. Batch and prepare the journal vouchers for entry into the GMU accounting system; (2) Prepare reconciliation schedules to support the accrual based financial statements; (3) Record journal vouchers to ERP system based on State and month end deadlines; (4) Provide customer service support, serve as backup resource for other positions on the team, and complete other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field of study, and/or equivalent level of training and experience;Knowledge of GAAP and accrual basis accounting;Ability to manage, manipulate and analyze accounting data and processes;The ability to process and analyze large quantities of data quickly, and with a high degree of accuracy;Skill using enterprise accounting systems (Banner experience preferred), Excel, reporting, and other applications; andSome (generally two (2) + years) experience in an accounting related position where significant reconciling and transaction analysis is preferred.
