Summary

The AV/VTC Engineer -Mid Level shall be responsible for evaluating, designing, documenting, installing, implementing, testing, maintaining, operating, removing, upgrading, and modifying video teleconferencing equipment systems.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support and services in the AV Engineering Team supporting a DoD organization with video teleconferencing services.
  • Resolve system operational problems by troubleshooting and performing fault isolation.
  • Responsible for the generation of and compliance with customer organization and contractual recurring daily, weekly, and monthly reporting requirements; nonrecurring and special reports.
  • Perform site surveys, generate Bill of Materials, lead integration, testing, and installations of new facilities (office spaces, conference rooms, etc.).
  • Develop and implement metrics capture processes and procedures, quality control and assurance processes and procedures; perform other tasks as assigned, and demonstrate proficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail in assigned duties.
  • Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for VTC Engineering operations.
  • Perform equipment custodian duties, including inventory asset management and accountability functions.
  • Provide life cycle refresh projections for AV/TC infrastructure and AV equipment build-out projects.
  • Conduct site surveys to establish AV/TC systems and equipment customer requirements.
  • Provide on-site support primarily at the main customer site location; provide occasional alternate or satellite site support, and/or travel as needed.
  • Responsible for evaluating, designing, documenting, installing, implementing, testing, maintaining, operating, removing, upgrading, and modifying video teleconferencing equipment systems.
  • Perform connection testing and troubleshooting of VTC systems for DoD operations.
  • Monitor and track system performance and usage.
  • Repair, replace, or reprogram faulty equipment, as required.
  • Provide client consulting and training on control, interfaces, and use of the audio/visual and VTC equipment.
  • Complete annual company and customer training requirements according to established policies and procedures.
  • Record labor hours daily in an online corporate system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Computer Information Management, Information Technology, or related field of study OR
  • High school diploma or GED and an additional 4+ years of IT Systems or Helpdesk support experience
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Must have experience configuring/maintaining/sustaining Extron, Crestron, AMX, and Cisco UC/VTC technologies
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security + certification required within 6 months of the start date
  • TS/SCI clearance required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Familiar with AR 25-1 and DoD PAM 25-91.
  • Ability to apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS) requirements on UC technologies.
  • Experienced in Cisco Unified Communications Manager/Cisco Meeting Serve Technologies Operations and Maintenance.
  • Experience with DITSCAP/8500.2 IA controls desired.
  • Experienced with IEEE 802.3 Ethernet, TCP/IP, QoS, ISDN, Firewall Traversal, SIP, H.323, and relevant video standards as well as DoD Video Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) processes, familiarity with and ability to comply with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) operational
  • Experienced with multi-security classified /unclassified IP video teleconferencing/presentations.
  • Experience with networking, LAN/WAN, and Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) cabling standards.
  • Understanding of PKI
  • Knowledge of AV/VTC sessions, Call Managers, scheduling, and of AV/VTC services with outside agencies for executive-level users.
  • Ability to perform duties in the DoD classified and unclassified environments, including the use of KIV-7 encryptions keys for ISDN/IP classified connectivity.
  • Working knowledge of SIP, ISM, H232, H320, H460, TLS, RTP, SRTP, TCP/IP, and UDP; content control protocols, video compression standards; packet analyzers; routing protocols and networking fundamentals; Tandberg, Polycom, and Cisco video and voice technologies.
  • Full working knowledge of commercial construction methods, like ceiling deck constructions, wall framing, structural engineering, electrical wiring, and cable/fiber installation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP network routing and switching.
  • Knowledge of wireless technologies.
  • Ability to perform duties in the DoD classified and unclassified environments, including the use of KIV-7 encryptions keys for ISDN/IP classified connectivity.
  • Must have the ability to attend all customer in-person meetings and conferences as requested.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with others effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-stress, performance-based environment.
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
