Company Job Title: Task Leader

Location: Washington, DC

Summary:

TheTask Leadershall carry out the overall management and leadership functions for work performed under the task order.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Deploy personnel and resources to achieve the objectives as required by the program
  • Ensure that specific work efforts are completed effectively and on time
  • Ensure the complete objectivity and independence of the work conducted under the task order
  • Ensure the technical accuracy and reliability of the products, reports, and recommendations
  • Maintain regular communications with the NCES COR and NCES Task Leader to ensure efficient and effective management of the task
  • Prepare required reports and proposals
  • Ensure that comprehensive records of activities, plans, and project finances are maintained
  • Oversee goal setting, planning, management, and evaluation of the work that is carried out
  • Act as expert with a track record of solid technical and leadership accomplishments in statistics, research, survey methodology, development and/or evaluation of projects
  • Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
  • Doctoral degree in statistics, mathematics, or a social science with course work in statistics and statistical applications and 4+ years of experience in statistical survey work OR
  • Master's degree in statistics, mathematics, or a social science with course work in statistics and statistical applications and 6+ years of experience in statistical survey work
  • 3+ years demonstrated experience using or contributing to the development, implementation, or analysis of data from the National Household Education Survey, Early Childhood Longitudinal Survey, or Education Supplement of the Current Population Survey
  • Successful completion of DoE background check and ability to obtain a public trust
  • The position requires a COVID vaccination or an approved accommodation/exemption for a disability/medical condition or religious belief

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience in management of a complex organization with progressively higher levels of responsibility in research, development, and/or evaluation projects
  • A working knowledge of the government's statutory and regulatory requirements that govern complex contracts and experience in providing service under such
  • Recognition as an expert with a track record of solid technical and leadership accomplishments in statistics, research, survey methodology, analysis of complex sample survey data, development and/or evaluation of projects
  • Working knowledge of the following: Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service internally and externally
  • Ability to respond to COR/Task Leader and customers' changing priorities with established deadlines
  • Ability to work as a functional part of a core team with ED staff and its other contractors
  • Exceptional ability to communicate clearly, courteously, and effectively
  • Exceptional ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to deliver quality products and services that meet and/or exceed customer needs/requirements
  • Ability to travel for up to 25%
  • Ability to occasionally work after hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
