The BIM Technician Designer will work as part of a team drafting, under general supervision, to produce architectural drawings from sketches, mark-ups, existing as-builts, site maps, photos, field notes and existing Revit/AutoCAD drawings for federal government programs. The BIM Technician Designer will be responsible for creating construction drawings, details from redlines, as-builts and graphics while working directly with the design architects and engineers. The BIM Technician Designer will upkeep the companies BIM/CAD programs, BIM/CAD Execution Plan and BIM/CAD Coordination Plan with consultants.


Work you'll do

As a BIM Technician Designer within our Jeddah team, you will:
  • Draft engineering, architecture and construction drawings using required BIM/CAD format - typically Revit or ACAD
  • Develop BIM/CAD Plan of Action, including libraries, details, templates, folder structures, and blocks for current and upcoming projects
  • Provide design and calculation assistance
  • Define BIM/CAD procedures for layering, line types, colors, and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout and work with detailed sketches, notes, and layouts for each specific project
  • Ensure compliance of drafting and engineering standards with prescribed program
  • Create schematic design and construction documents accurately and independently
  • Utilize standard architectural and/or engineering practices and techniques to adjust and correlate data
  • Revise drawings from markups and/or instructions and self-check documents prior to release
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines and complete conflict resolution/interference workflow checks and clash detection as necessary
  • Create and work with BIM models in Revit and coordinate model sharing, linking, and coordination with consultants
  • Complete assigned tasks on all projects in a timely manner
  • Create 3D renderings using Autodesk AEC products and Sketchup
  • Manage close-out documentation, including O&M manuals, warranties, and as-built drawings and specifications
  • Convert as-built, markups, and field redlines to final format required by customer
  • Create batch sets of construction drawings and individual sheets and combine, review, edit, perform QAQC, and upload final deliverables using Bluebeam Revu
  • Coordinate and help develop specifications through prescribed formats
  • Use SharePoint to manage and ensure secure file sharing and linking
  • Assist with Site Survey Documentation and Construction Administration
  • Other duties as assigned

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required
  • 5+ years of Engineering/Architecture drafting experience
  • Federal government project experience preferred
  • Background check with the ability to obtain a secret clearance
  • The position requires a COVID vaccination or an approved accommodation/exemption for a disability/medical condition or religious belief

  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Windows, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Experience with IBC, UFC, UFGS guide specifications, and federal codes and regulations
  • Proven proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD required and Building Information Modelling, old and new versions
  • Competent in BIM 360 management, including file sharing, work sharing, model linking
  • Efficient in Bluebeam Revu and Studio Sessions
  • Ability to perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independenceExcellent written and verbal
  • communication skills in a dynamic environment
  • Strong organizational, time management, analytical skills, and attention to detail
  • Capacity to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Sketchup experience is preferred
