IT Specialist, College of ScienceThe George Mason University, Dean's Office Information Technology Team in the College of Science invites highly-qualified candidates to apply for our Information Technology Specialist position. The IT Specialist will complement central IT by developing knowledge of the university's IT resources and processes and providing information on those resources to COS requestors where appropriate. The IT Specialist also manages the College's Microsoft Active Directory groups and serves as the fixed assets liaison for the Dean's Office and will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and completing an annual inventory.Required Qualifications:Experience supporting Windows 10; familiarity with Mac OS;Experience or formal coursework in information technology;Experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite;Experience troubleshooting a wide range of computer hardware and software components;Ability to work independently on multiple IT projects of varied complexity;Must be an effective written and oral communicator and be able to work with diverse populations; andMUST have the ability to pass a Department Of Justice Security Risk Assessment.Preferred Qualifications:A+, Network+, Security+ and/or Microsoft MCSA or MCSE certification;Familiarity with GMU inventory process and use of TRAQ database;Experience providing desktop support and customer service;Experience using SCCM deployment tools and imaging;Experience working in an institution of higher education;Experience supporting Windows-based applications with complex configurations; andExperience working with scientific equipment and general understanding of scientific computing needs;
