Westat is seeking a Senior Public Health Researcher to lead project execution and business development for epidemiology projects in the Public Health and Epidemiology Practice.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide senior technical advisory services for epidemiology public health strategy and evaluation to federal and state clients.
  • Work with Practice Management team to develop an epidemiology growth strategy including capture and proposal efforts for new opportunities.
  • Provide project oversight in the management and execution of public health projects including team management.
  • Assess current and future staffing needs and assist the Practice Management team with recruitment and hiring.
  • Mentor and engage staff in activities that drive Practice goals. Foster transparent communications and encourage collaboration across the organization.

Basic Qualifications:
  • PhD or ScD in Public Health or related disciplines.
  • 15 years of relevant experience including:
    • 8 years of management experience required.
    • 5 years of government, professional services or government contracting/public sector marketing experience.
  • Experience directing large scale public health programs in a federal environment.
  • Track record of publications and presentations or other activities demonstrating thought leadership in public health.
