Overview

The courier will be responsible for following the delivery directions provided by Logistics Manager, making deliveries on time and within strict deadlines. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, reliable, and possess excellent communication skills. The Courier requires solid geographical knowledge, exceptional driving skills, and will be required to follow all road safety regulations. The Courier will distribute interoffice mail and documents and will be responsible for the pick-up and drop-off documents and packages from branches and other offices, and delivering them to their final destinations. The Courier will provide administrative support to all levels of the Credit Union and will ensure supplies are stocked and that invoices are properly filed.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily handling, routing, coordination and distribution of Credit Union documents between the main office buildings, outlying branches and other organizations as necessary
  • Provide high-quality liaison service for the Credit Union
  • Move sensitive, essential documentation between various locations on schedule
  • Provide information to customers regarding items such as schedules, the correct procedure to handle various transactions and movement of documents between locations
  • Provide additional security by inspection of incoming mail and packages
  • Accurately sort, process and deliver correspondence
  • Deliver UPS, Fed Ex, Print Material and miscellaneous supplies
  • Assist Logistics specialist in procuring requested daily branch supplies
  • Manage/control mail receipts
  • Be cognizant of U.S. Postal, FedEx and UPS pricing and procedures
  • Able to utilize shipping technologies and operate various types of document tracking and processing equipment
  • Collect parcels and packages from the central depot and deliver to specific addresses, stipulated in the delivery instructions
  • Route planning to optimize efficiency and ensure parcels are delivered on time
  • Prevent damage or loss of packages during transit
  • Obtain signed receipts and confirmation of each delivery
  • Communicate with the Logistics team, receiving delivery instructions, and providing status updates
  • Maintain accurate paper or virtual records of parcel deliveries
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)

Qualifications

Required
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills, able to develop and maintain a database
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel
  • Valid driver's license is required
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Safe and conscientious driving skills
  • Familiarity using GPS
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to multi-task
  • Geographical knowledge and organized route planning skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Must have that ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required
