Personnel Operations Specialist The George Mason University (GMU) Office of the Provost invites applications for a Personnel Operations Specialist. About the Department:The Office of the Provost provides leadership, management and guidance to support and achieve the academic mission for GMU. The various colleges, schools, and institutes rely on this office for constant programmatic support; planning assistance; policy expertise; and exceptional customer service. In addition, the Office of the Provost plays a crucial and high-profile role with the University's governing board, the Board of Visitors. This team is integral in the development, planning, and implementation of academic initiatives and policy that provides critical personnel support for the faculty and central support to the units that connects the Office of the Provost with Mason's academic, administrative and local communities.Responsibilities:The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Senior Personnel Operations Analyst regarding Personnel Records Management for GMU. This includes faculty personnel data, document and material management, and academic credentialing data. This position works with various offices in regard to faculty data accuracy, imaging and reporting. This position's primary focus is to manage, maintain and streamline all personnel records and transactions in an employee's life cycle. This position is the main point of contact to work with the Local Academic Units and HR to track and obtain all necessary documents and audit regularly for documentation. Duties include:Assisting the Senior Personnel Operations Analyst with academic resource issues for GMU;Processing all of Mason administrative and academic affairs' documents, involving a variety of procedures;Streamline and manage Faculty records in a continuous process and must work with the Local Academic Units and Human Resources to audit records to ensure that all records are up to date and reported accurately;Oversees part-time staff who assist in entering data for a variety of processes, such as new hires, renewals and reappointments, other announcements and separations that are reported to the Board of Visitors;Plans, coordinates, and oversees the programmatic and operational initiatives and projects involving academic affairs' issues for the Senior Personnel Operations Analyst;Assist the Senior Personnel Operations Analyst with Faculty Workflow processes;Audit personnel files and communicate with local academic units and central HR to obtain documentation; andParticipate in a variety of ad hoc projects involving academic affairs issues.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience;Experience in records management;Experience with high volume reporting, tracking, and comparing records/data for accuracy;Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;Excellent communication skills;Exceptional organizational skills;Experience working independently as well as in a team environment; andExperience with Microsoft Office Suite.Preferred Qualifications:Training in university software programs and academic affairs policies and procedures;Experience working with imaging software such as xTender;Experience with Ellucian Banner; andExperience in Microsoft Teams and/or SharePoint.
