Summary
The MIL Corporation is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support our Corporate Offices in a role performing Accounts Payable and Expense processing. Must be willing to travel to the Bowie, MD location once a week.

Responsibilities
• Review and post vouchers
• Create and manage check runs and EFT payments
• Troubleshoot the AP and Expense modules in Costpoint
• Adhere to all timelines, deadlines and best practices
• Must be knowledgeable in all Costpoint 7 & 8 AP and T&E processes and assist team as needed
• Knowledge of all Costpoint 7 modules and processes to assist team as needed a big plus
• Help with period end and year-end close processes, expense report processing, and 1099 generation
• Resolve internal and external vendor issues in a professional and timely fashion
• Ability to assume some accountant functions such as the following duties a big plus:
- Monitors and ensures that all bank draft disbursements are recorded timely for all cash accounts
- Monitors and prepares MD Sales & Use tax return and ensure timely submission
- Responsible for monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Assists with monthly bank reconciliations
- Other duties as assigned
• Ensure compliance with all MIL policies and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications
• AA degree in accounting; experience can be substituted for formal education
• 5 years of AP experience in a government contracting environment
• 3 years of Costpoint 7 or 8 experience required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Great attention to detail
• Very good organization and time management skills

Desired Qualifications
• Current Costpoint 7 or 8 experience
• 5 years of experience with a government contractor

Education
AA/AS or equivalent experience
