Comnmercial Real Estate Relationship Manager (Senior Director)

Overview:

The Commercial Real Estate ("CRE") team within the Commercial Bank at Capital One is one of the largest commercial real estate lenders with a loan portfolio of over $40B. The CRE team has recently embarked on an exciting transformation to become the smartest, fastest, most resilient CRE lender in the industry and a beacon for top talent. A large component of that strategy is to provide broader geographic coverage with new products, new specialties, and new asset classes.

To help drive this journey, Capital One's Commercial Bank is seeking a Senior Relationship Manager for the Dallas market. The Senior Relationship Manager will be responsible for extending and maintaining relationships with potential and existing customers and deepening those relationships by delivering the entire Bank platform including loan, treasury, capital markets, agency lending and other products and services offered by Capital One.

The ideal candidate is one who is results oriented, client focused, strategic, can navigate obstacles and roadblocks, and work collaboratively with cross functional team members.

Responsibilities
  • Establishes and implements a sales strategy; interacts with customers or potential customers to explain Capital One products and services with the goal of increasing business with the company
  • Plans origination growth through the development of a business plan in alignment with CRE budget and consistent with overall Bank asset/liability management objectives
  • Extends and sustains the company's relationships with contacts/customers to maintain and deepen business
  • Firm knowledge of products, deal structuring, market trends and client interaction
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of competitors' products and pricing in the market served.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders including Underwriting, Risk, Commercial Client Service and Support and Treasury Management to provide an exemplary customer experience
  • Participates in the deal approval, underwriting and closing processes to manage clients' expectations and internal partners
  • Leverages Salesforce.com and outside databases to keep data current, and to identify and prioritize corporate prospects and their key decision-makers
  • Participates in business development networking activities as a member of the CRE Banking teams
  • Coordinates activities, work streams, and resources (material or personnel) needed to achieve goals; keeps others informed on status or issues; solicits and provides feedback to others; gets buy-in and builds consensus with others
  • Monitors and evaluates work of self, any direct reports, project teams, or other internal or external groups members against work or project goals and objectives (includes determining what goals/objectives to monitor and evaluate).
  • Works on various projects as assigned



Competencies
  • Team player with proven ability to execute in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience in Relationship Management
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and foster relationships with senior management of customers and prospects
  • Excellent business writing and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate Lending



Preferred Qualifications
  • A Master's in Business Administration or a Master's in Finance
  • Experience with Bridge to Agency lending
  • Significant knowledge of Commercial Real Estate Credit
