Senior Manager, Process Management - Product Operations

Capital One's Strategy, Data and Analytics team is seeking a senior manager of process management with a successful track record of technology implementation to improve operations for Commercial Capital Markets and Loan Operations, enable growth, and establish a culture that supports rapid technological improvement and innovation.

We're looking for an experienced manager to redefine the way we prioritize, transform, and partner with our product and tech teams to accelerate digital deployment. In this role, you will play a critical role in developing strategy, roadmapping, and influencing product deployment. You will coordinate extensively with business process owners and technology support teams to create a framework that simplifies and automates processes, while driving our businesses forward. In addition, through improving access to data, you will support enhancements to our analytical capabilities and help us answer questions critical to business decisions.

What will you do?
  • Partner with business leaders and users to identify opportunities for new digital capabilities; gather requirements, build business cases, drive prioritization
  • Act as a liaison between our tech, platform, product teams and operations at all stages of the continuous improvement cycle
  • Demonstrate end-to-end understanding of key products and systems and how it fits into the larger ecosystem in order to anticipate impacts from changes in other parts of the business
  • Lead an operational excellence team to implement Commercial Banking's digital strategy vision
  • Work in a hands-on, collaborative environment with top designers, engineers, data scientists, and analysts to build breakthrough experiences and products that solve our users' most critical needs
  • Define project communication, governance and collaboration routines that ensure we are maximizing validated learning and impact
  • Rally your teams and senior stakeholders to your product vision and proactively leverage relationships throughout the ecosystem to align to your vision and influence prioritization across partner teams
  • Ensure proper change management is exercised throughout product and tech releases - including process documentation, and risk assessment
  • Manage user based platforms (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Support vendor management activities


Here's what you'll need to be successful:
  • Strong understanding of Commercial Banking or strong Financial Services industry experience
  • Experience with business case development to influence tech prioritization
  • Working knowledge of agile methodology (i.e. PI Planning, sprints, etc.) and tools (i.e. Jira)
  • Technically fluent - understanding of data warehousing, system interactions, etc.
  • Demonstrated record of managing through successful product launches, system migrations and integrations
  • Project leadership and management experience in an Agile environment
  • Grounding in human-centered design with a natural empathy for users
  • Strategic thinking and an ability to effectively identify opportunities for growth in new businesses and markets
  • Structured communication & storytelling skills with all audiences
  • Significant experience applying analytical rigor to support technology decisions


Work at Home Technology Requirements:
  • A secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions
  • A reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use cellular data (hot spot)
    • Cable or fiber connections are preferred
    • Internet service download speeds must be at least 5 mbps, with 10+ mbps preferred - check your download speed using a speed test. A sample one can be found here . To test your home internet from your personal computer at home, type www.speedtest.net into the web browser of your personal computer.
    • Sustained ability to maintain latency less than 250 ms in voice calls is required
  • Hard wired connectivity is preferred, any use of wireless connectivity must be Private (non-public) and password protected through WPA2-PSK (AES) encryption. If you have any questions about your encryption, please consult with your internet provider
    • A private network is password protected where you have ownership or line of sight to every device on the network
  • Capital One reserves the right to request proof of internet provider, speed and service package from the associate
  • Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered. Capital One reserves the right to modify internet service requirements with sixty (60) days notice.


Candidates must live within 100 miles driving distance of one of the hub locations

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of product management or process management


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or Computer science
  • At least 5 years of experience in process management
  • At least 5 years of experience in project management
  • At least 3 years of experience translating business strategy and data analysis into digital products
  • At least 3 years of experience with agile methodologies
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or agile project management certification
  • At least 1 year of experience with systems such as: WSS, ACBS, GTSNet, PIE, Murex, CXL, Salesforce, DataScan, Laser Pro, Comet
