Awarded in August 2021 to the Parsons Team, the TEAMS next Missile Defense Systems Engineering contract has a three-year base period plus four one-year options that should take the period of performance through the end of 2028 into 2029. The primary purpose of this contract is to provide outstanding systems engineering services vital for MDA mission success at multiple locations around the world. Venturi, LLC, a, Chenega company, has an exciting career opportunity for a Small Satellites Systems Engineer/Analyst who will play an important role supporting Missile Defense Agency on the TEAMS Next Missile Defense Systems Engineering contract. This individual will support Missile Defense Agency Advanced Technology Program efforts providing direct technical and programmatic support to Advanced Research Nanosat Testbed Initiative (NTI). NTI leverages readily available, small, low cost satellites (Class D) as test platforms to demonstrate advanced missile defense system technologies in relevant operational environments, providing risk reduction for future kill vehicle, sensor, and automated operations for missile defense.

Responsibilities

Work you'll do

As a Small Satellites Systems Engineer/Analyst within our TEAMS Next Missile Defense Systems Engineering team, you will:
  • Participate in engineering technical reviews to ensure planned engineering implementations are consistent with intended requirements
  • Support (NTI) with planning and managing ground segment development and integration of satellite requirements into the Missile Defense Space Center
  • Implement ground architecture for classified data
  • Support government customer at coordination meetings with other government agencies and site visits with contractors and university affiliated research centers
  • Support the small satellite team with planning, requirements integration, process coordination, and documentation necessary to execute the mission

Qualifications

Required:
  • BS degree in a STEM discipline
  • 7+ years of experience with MDA engineering programs or related Space and Missile programs
  • Working knowledge of Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Integration, Space, and Nanosat Launch Developmental Testing and Integration
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity requirements for satellites and ground architecture (risk management framework)
  • Coordination required with laser clearing house for optical communication, DoD Space Test Program for launch segment planning, and the Army Spectrum Management Office for frequency requests
  • Capability to develop and present program briefings to senior management-level personnel
  • Requires knowledge and ability to resolve complex hardware, software, and/or integration problems and devise unique solutions that meet and exceed client requirements
  • Requires ability to decipher/comprehend complex technical requirements, specifications, and regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to serve in a leadership role, (e.g. take the lead on team task assignments and manage meetings)
  • Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with team members, managers, and clients working on complex issues pertaining to assigned tasks
  • TS security clearance required, TS/SCI preferred.
