Awarded in August 2022 to the Parsons Team, the TEAMS next Missile Defense Systems Engineering contract has three-base periods plus four one-year options that should take the period of performance through the end of 2028 into 2029. The primary purpose of this contract is to provide outstanding systems engineering services vital for MDA mission success at multiple locations around the world. Venturi, LLC, a Chenega company, has a challenging and interesting career opportunity for a Senior Engineer who will play a key role in supporting critical Missile Defense Agency missions on the TEAMS Next Missile Defense Systems Engineering contract. This individual will work with the MDA Innovation Science & Technology (DV) Director's Action Group (DAG) to shape, coordinate, and disseminate DV Director's vision and strategy.

Responsibilities

Work you'll do

As a Senior Engineer within our TEAMS Next Missile Defense Systems Engineering team, you will:
  • Provide technical insight on all matters for the DAG team
  • Draft and coordinate briefings and point papers to Congress, OSD, industry stakeholders, and foreign partners
  • Maintain awareness of the DV portfolio and when required, develop and advocate courses of action to DV leadership
  • Coordinate with other directorates and DVX to shape the Science & Technology roadmap and vector investments to achieve the future missile defense system architecture, as defined by the Chief Architect's (CA) office.
  • Assist with drafting and coordinating products, like the End of Week report to the MDA Director and TMT taskers, internal and external to DV
  • Provide technical expertise to the DV front office that covers a range of development initiatives, including hypersonic defense, materials, manufacturing, guidance systems, propulsion, passive (EO/IR) sensors, active (RF) sensors, directed energy, modeling and simulation, and Artificial Intelligence
  • Draft, coordinate, and review point papers and briefings from a variety of sources for veracity and technical accuracy and recommend edits as appropriate
  • Manage a portfolio of initiatives with advanced allies to develop technologies for missile defense
  • Coordinate with Chief Technology Officers and directorates across the agency to optimize directorate investments in technology initiatives
  • Draft and coordinate directorate policy
  • Capture directorate strategy, vision, and goals in presentations and point papers and review any communication leaving the directorate to ensure compliance with policy
  • Train government and contract new hires in policy and standard operating procedures

Qualifications

Required:
  • MA/MS with 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Broad technical acumen to cover technical topic details across the DV portfolio
  • Familiarity with the missile defense system architecture and development of the architecture, with the ability to translate capability gaps to technology needs
  • Experience with MDA organizational structure and processes
  • Extensive experience drafting, coordinating, and managing executive communications
  • Skill and experience with DoD acquisition standards and processes
  • Familiarity with systems engineering standards and processes
  • Skill and experience with Microsoft business products (Word, Excl, PowerPoint)
  • Secret clearance required
