Office Manager, Dean's OfficeThe George Mason University College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) seeks a detail-oriented Office Manager to provide financial, travel, and operational support to the Dean's Office. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities: The Office Manager will provide daily support for the CHSS Dean's Office in the areas of purchasing (through PCard and eVA), travel coordination and support, processing the hiring of part-time staff and graduate students in the office, as well as operational functions, including providing support for search coordination of benefited positions in the Dean's Office, telecom coordination, submission and tracking of facilities work orders, managing faculty and staff listservs and contact lists, and serving as the office's Records Liaison. The incumbent will also provide back-up support to assist with continuity of operations related to scheduling meetings for the Dean, managing conference room meeting requests, as well as assisting with the administration of the college's faculty review processes (Renewal, Promotion, and Tenure). Schedule flexibility may be occasionally required to accommodate the office's events or initiatives.Required Qualifications:Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced office prioritizing and managing multiple tasks accurately;Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to perform efficiently in an active, priority-changing atmosphere;Ability to work independently, and in collaboration with others;Experience communicating and interacting with constituents at diverse levels of an organization;Ability to handle matters with discretion and maintain confidentiality; andExperience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience;3-5 years of directly relevant experience;Skills in fiscal management, office management, and human resources;Familiarity with University database systems; andExperience in a higher education setting.
