Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a talented Graphic Designer with 4+ years of experience designing creative communication, marketing, and advertising products for print and online distribution. The Graphic Designer will support the education and outreach initiatives for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Program Integrity (CPI).

The Graphic Designer will be required to implement a consistent brand across all education and outreach materials, training modules, event collateral, and websites. The successful candidate should have a portfolio that demonstrates a versatile range of skills, and a good knowledge of layout, typography, image enhancement, as well as an intimate understanding of Adobe Creative Suite. The candidate not only must possess the ability to translate a creative brief into a concept and final deliverable, but to work and communicate effectively within a multi-disciplinary collaborative team environment. The Graphic Designer must ensure products are visually appealing to encourage stakeholders to engage with materials.

This is an Associate-level, full-time position is located in Alexandria, VA. This position may also be remote.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and develop material in print and digital formats for external and internal web assets including web ads, icons and infographics, hero banners, and social media ad campaigns
  • Develop posters and other corporate communications products with a consistent look and feel
  • Develop training materials and modules for large training initiatives
  • Maintain brand standards and brand integrity in developed creative
  • Producing attractive and effective designs for all media
  • Create compelling data visualizations, infographics, and maps
  • Assist in the development of brand messaging for various digital campaigns
  • Liaise and communicate with stakeholders to and senior team members to review creative and gather feedback
  • Provide support to both the creative and project team throughout the execution of campaigns and projects
  • Offering input to creative meetings and sharing ideas


Minimum Qualifications

  • 4-7 years of experience as a Graphic Designer
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, or a related Visual Arts field
  • Portfolio required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.


Desired Qualifications

  • Google Analytics 360/Google Tag Manager 360/Google BigQuery expertise.
  • In-depth understanding of website, app, and marketing metrics and KPIs.
  • Proficiency in analytics tools such as Tableau, R or Python, and Excel.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and Regular Expressions.
  • Data Engineering experience a plus.
  • Google Analytics Certified a plus.
  • Basic understanding of HTML & ability to troubleshoot code.
  • In-depth experience working with tag management platforms and data layers
  • Exposure to web diagnostic tools like Fiddler2, Charles Proxy, or Firebug a plus
  • Data Management Platform (DMP) experience a plus
  • Experience with A/B testing platforms such as Optimizely, Monetate, Google Optimize a plus

CPI's mission is to identify and combat fraud, waste, and abuse within CMS programs. The office conducts targeted outreach to promote and educate stakeholders on program integrity while detecting fraud, waste, and abuse and preventing improper payments in CMS programs.
