The Lourie Center TNP, Adventist HealthCare, is hiring a part-time Behavior Technician in Rockville, Maryland. We are currently offering a $1,000 sign-on bonus to qualified candidates!

We're seeking an experienced Behavior Technician who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Behavior Tech, you will:
•Assist the teaching team in the implementation of therapeutic strategies for the children in the program
•Develop and implement activities that support student treatment goals
•Skillfully use a wide variety of verbal and nonverbal de-escalation techniques while maintaining a patient and respectful attitude toward young children
•Support children in the classroom who may be in crisis. If a child is a danger to their self or others, you must be able to physically manage students in CPI
•Collect behavioral data to support children's success and bring the data to weekly team meetings
•Participate in reflective supervision
•Work with families to provide support and ensure a smooth transition from home to school settings by maintaining ongoing and open communication with parents/caregivers

Qualifications Include:
•Bachelor's degree in education or child psychology required
•Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required
•Minimum of 2 years' experience with young children, preferably those with emotional/behavioral difficulties
•Within the first 90 days of starting in the position, the Behavior Technician will complete six semester hours of approved early childhood training or the 90 hour Child Development Course (Child Growth & Development-Preschool-45 clock hours and Curriculum & Activities-Preschool-45 clock hours) which is required through Maryland State Department of Education, Office of Child Care
•Obtain CPI training within the first three months of employment

Work Schedule:

Part Time, 30 hours per week
