The Aviation Technician will be responsible for the support and sustainment of the

Lakota Health Usage Monitoring System (HUMS) for the US Army's UH-72 fleet. The Aviation

Technician will be responsible for the depopulation of Lakota aircraft to support the installation

of newly purchased HUMS systems. The Aviation Technician will also be responsible for the installation of these new systems.

  • Remove structural components so the HUMS system can be installed.
  • Maintain Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control, including FOD awareness and FOD critical records, generating reports, and participating in inspections.
  • Maintain inventory control of contractor furnished tools.
  • Support basic operations within a warehouse facility.
  • Read and interpret drawings and technical data.
  • Perform random inspections of end item usage and report findings to the Program Manager.
  • Travel as a member of a contact field team 95% of the time.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 4+ years of related experience with rotary-wing aircraft
  • Maintain current FAA Aircraft and Powerplant (A&P) license
  • Valid driver's license is required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to travel as a member of a contact field team 95% of the time
  • Working knowledge of sheet metal and avionics tools and common practices
  • Must be able to perform work at the journeyman level
  • Must be able to complete tasks with minimal instruction
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data, manuals, and regulations
  • Ability to inspect work accomplished
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be willing to comply with the security policies and procedures enforced at AMCOM, and all other government or contractor facilities entered
  • Must comply with all Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) as well as established safety procedures
