The salary for the BDIA Team Lead position is $85,000-$90,000.

The BDIA Team Lead coordinates the day-to-day actions of a MIOS BDIA Team, consisting of junior BDIA's supporting MIOS subsidiaries with business development activities. The BDIA Team Lead reports to the MIOS BD Manager and works in close collaboration with the BD Manager and Director of Business Development to provide insight into all aspects of the business development lifecycle (Identification, Qualification, Research, and Capture), assists subsidiary Presidents with strategic growth initiatives, and provides guidance and support to assigned BDIA's in the accomplishment of relevant BD activities.

  • Collaborate with subsidiary presidents, MIOS BD manager, and BD director to understand strategic growth goals and objectives for assigned subsidiaries.
  • Work with BD manager and BD director to develop macro- and micro- BD activities to achieve subsidiary growth objectives.
  • Assign and supervise day-to-day actions of junior BDIA's (I & II) in the execution of business development activities and production of high-quality deliverables.
  • Lead weekly subsidiary BD pipeline reviews (Sync's) and conducts audits to ensure pipeline compliance with MIOS processes, quality assurance, and data integrity.
  • Assist subsidiary presidents in the qualification of opportunities through the collection, interpretation, and presentation of market, customer, and competitor intelligence. This includes providing qualified recommendations and assessments and suggesting competitive strategies and approaches.
  • Maintain team proficiency in the use of market intelligence/business development tools or other assets (, Deltek, BGOV, etc.), and systems to include GovWin IQ, Vantagepoint CRM, Past Performance Database, SharePoint.
  • Provide training and mentorship to members of the assigned BDIA Team.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of deliverables such as RFI/Sources sought responses, research projects, and other special requests.
  • Conduct research and develops responses to MIOS HQ and subsidiary ad-hoc BD and other market intelligence requests including the preparation of presentation qualify deliverables and presenting findings as requested.
  • Support the management and implementation of the MIOS BD procedures to ensure subsidiary education and continuous process improvement.
  • Identify new and recommends improvements to existing BD tools/resources tools.
  • Assist BD manager with training for new systems users on BD tools such as Bgov, GovWin, and VantagePoint.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field.
  • Additional experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree requirement.
  • 5+ years of experience conducting or supporting business development operations and functions within the federal government contracting space.
  • 1+ years of experience managing small teams of personnel in a highly visible and fast-paced environment.
  • Experience utilizing federal BD tools such as,, FPDS, Agency-level acquisition forecast tools, Deltek GovWin IQ.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship (CRM) or Pipeline Management systems such as Salesforce, Deltek VantagePoint, Pipedrive, or Hubspot.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Must have the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Must effectively communicate both through written and oral means.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of the federal business development lifecycle and associated operations.
  • Must possess the knowledge of tools and processes used to conduct research and analysis of federal government opportunities and the competitive landscape.
  • Must be process driven with the ability to manage the integration of automation to improve process efficiencies.
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of the Federal Defense/Civil contracting environment (customers, technology, business process, etc.)
  • Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications (e.g. MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project), SharePoint, and Outlook. Experience with Microsoft Power BI or other analytics software is a plus.
