Job Description

The Washington Post seeks a highly experienced and creative photo assignment editor to join our award-winning photo team comprised of visual journalists who find fresh and compelling ways to tell stories.

This photo assignment editor will assign, research and generate photographic ideas for our national politics report, including coverage of the 2024 Presidential campaign.

This photo editor will have a nuanced eye for photography and be able to work with freelance photographers and our staff photojournalists. The successful candidate for this rewarding job will work collaboratively with our national reporting teams to produce photography that is engaging and informative, and with our visual enterprise editor and design team to present powerful visual storytelling on multiple platforms. This editor's schedule will be Sunday through Thursday.

This position is based in our Washington newsroom.
