Job Description
The Washington Post is seeking an experienced general assignment reporter in Washington for the Morning Mix, a collection of interesting and artfully written stories for The Post's homepage on an array of subjects.
The successful candidate will join a team of five writers and two editors working from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (yes, that's all night) with the goal of conceiving and producing compelling stories and covering major news that breaks overnight. Applicants should have at least three years of experience writing on deadline and a proven record of generating ideas and executing them quickly with minimal editing required.
Only writers with a knack for narrative feature writing should apply, submitting at least two feature stories and one breaking news story bearing their solo byline. To see the types of stories Morning Mix does, click here .
This position is based in our Washington newsroom.
