As a manager on the Data Ecosystem Platform team, you're building platforms that contribute to improve Indeed's ability to better understand, govern, and secure sensitive information. What types of data does database X contain? What applications are running that are vulnerable to a novel zero-day attack? What data is at risk because of it? These are the types of questions that our platform aims to answer. This requires both a deep level of understanding of the data and systems surrounding it as well as the ability to scale the collection of the data through automation and heuristics. As a manager you are passionate about growing others through hands-on leadership. You aren't afraid to get into the weeds to understand and resolve the root of problems, be it technical or organizational. You work closely with your team and product partners to help stakeholders when it comes to dealing with data issues at petabyte scale. Who You Are 5+ years of experience building large-scale software systems and a strong ability to coach developers, help them improve their skills as a software engineer 2+ years of experience leading a team of 3+ engineers; demonstrating an ability to balance business goals with the individuals' strengths and career aspirations Deep understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, distributed system architecture, and can demonstrate significant prior success as a software engineer who solved complex problems Deep understanding of best engineering practices for the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including technical design, coding standards, code review, source control, build, test, deploy, and operations Proficient with programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, C++, or C# A deep understanding of the web and strong knowledge of databases, both SQL and NoSQL Significant experience with large scale, high-performance systems Interested in the data security and data privacy space; or have experience in building systems that detect and prevent data loss or leakage Who we are We are a rapidly growing and highly-capable Engineering organization building the most popular job site on the planet.
