Industrial Maintenance Technician - Minerals Plant About the job RHI Magnesita is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician in York, PA. Starting Rate: $25.72 - $32+ an HR (or more based on experience) + $1.50 shift/$1.60 weekend differential Sign on Bonus: $3,000 Shift: 2nd & 3rd shift - with weekend work The Industrial Maintenance Minerals Plant's tasks will include: Keeping safety as a top priority Demonstrating safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power); candidate will be carrying various tools around campus Understanding and utilizing High Voltage and other equipment; Microprocessor equipment, thermocouples, and RTD's Quickly assessing plant processes during a breakdown; ability to communicate with equipment operators and then apply troubleshooting skills and knowledge to fix equipment in an efficient amount of time Demonstrating an aptitude of mechanical systems; Gearbox, Power Transmission, Conveyors, and Bearings. Testing electrical systems; (ranging from 24VDC to 480VAC 3-ph) by using multi-meters Troubleshooting PLC Controlled and hard-wired systems by using required 70E PPE and safe work practices. Will troubleshoot for both electrical and mechanical issues to minimize downtime Performing insulation tests; on AC Motors by using a megger Performing preventative maintenance; on all equipment as necessary (Dryers, Crushers, Conveyors, Rotary Kilns, Bag House, etc.) Participating in the improvements of plant equipment; to maximize productivity and assist with cost effective savings About you Must be at least 18 years of age; attained a High School Diploma or GED; and strongly prefer training with electromechanical principles from an accredited institution or on the job training from another employer. Working in a heavy industrial environment where the assigned duties were in a fast-paced work environment that will be inside or outside in hot, cold and dirty working environments. Equipment repair experience (gearbox, power transmission, conveyors, and bearings) is required. Possess strong electrical, mechanical and analytical aptitude; understand and troubleshoot ladder logic programs. Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics. Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and have performed installation, maintenance or general operations on this type of equipment in an industrial environment. Prior experience welding (Stick and Mig). Self-starters who can work independently without direct supervision.
