Accounting Associate - Tax Gaithersburg, MD Your tasks: As a key member of the Miltenyi Biotec Accounting team, your primary responsibilities will consist of the preparation of tax returns, tax filings, and supporting work papers, as well as analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts. To best fit into this role, you will display excellent analytical, research, communication, and interpersonal skills. Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following: Assist with the planning, preparation and filing of time-sensitive tax returns and estimates, including sales and use tax returns for multi-states, in order to comply with international, federal, state and local tax regulations; Assist with sales and use tax related questions, including reviewing customers' sales tax exemption certificates and verifying correct tax treatments and rates; Resolve federal, state and local notices; and Assist with month-end reporting, such as GL review, reconciliation, and preparation of journal entries. This role also requires inter-department and intercompany communications and transactions and the parent company to enable the continuous success of Miltenyi Biotec as a whole. Requirements: Bachelor's degree (BS) and 2+ years' direct general accounting experience, including AP, AR, and General Ledger, and/or tax experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience Sales tax experience preferred Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel Experience with multiple modules of financial systems, preferably SAP preferred Master's degree in Accounting/Finance, Juris Doctorate, or Tax LLM preferred Please note that this position may require vaccination against Covid-19, unless individual is entitled to reasonable accommodation under applicable law.
