A Kforce client is seeking to hire a Network Engineer in Herndon, Virginia (VA).Summary:The candidate will be a part of a team that performs engineering and operational duties to include installing, configuring, and supporting network appliances. This will be ensuring network availability, capacity, and performance.Responsibilities include: * Support life-cycle engineering (design, development, testing, integration, maintenance) for network technology stacks including F5 and Broadcom Layer 7 devices in support of a diverse set of web applications in the DOS/CA environment * Network Engineer will provide escalation engineering/Tier III support of Department of State modernized applications on current and future network stacks and technologies * Work closely with senior network and systems engineers to build and maintain enterprise capabilities in support of Consular Affairs applications and services * Bachelor's degree in technical and 5-7 years of experience; Master's degree in technical field and 3-5 years of experience * Must have hands-on Linux and CLI experience (Power user/Admin experience required) * Must have hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, deploying network capabilities in support of hosts (client/server), network devices/appliances, and applications * Willingness to learn quickly in a high tempo environment * Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information * Applicants must be fully authorized to work in the US without sponsorship Kforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
