Job Summary/Company: Sparks Group has partnered with a government contractor with a 30-year track record of launching innovative campaigns that achieve measurable impact for mission-driven organizations and businesses. They are seeking a Contract HR Generalist to provide administrative support through an upcoming 401K audit. This role will be heavy on the document review and data-entry, so we are looking for professionals with stamina and attention to detail! This role is REMOTE CONTRACT, but needs to reside locally as there will be an occasional visit to the office in Alexandria, VA. The assignment is 2-3 months, but stellar performers could be hired on permanently! If you meet the qualifications as outlined below please reach out!

HR Generalist

Job Description. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
  • Assist with the employee lifecycle and ensure a successful onboarding/offboarding process.
  • Maintaining accurate data in the HR information system, escalating issues as needed.
  • Assist with the processes for I-9 work authorization and visa applications.
  • Completing annual external and internal audits (benefits, EEOC, FLSA status, personnel records, etc.)
  • Provide assistance with annual Open Enrollment process.
  • Assist with fielding HR inquiries from employees, supervisors, and approved parties, elevating complex and/or sensitive matters to HR leaders as appropriate.
  • Assist with the rollout and management of new and current HR systems and features, including training firmwide.
  • Delivering superior client experience to stakeholders.
  • Other various duties as requested, such as data reporting, filing, day-to-day administrative tasks.


  • Required Qualifications:
  • 401k audit experience, OFCCP audit experience.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Highly organized, action-oriented, and collaborative, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with computer and database applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Current HRIS System: Paylocity

    Other Systems: Slack, Box.com, Monday.com

    Projects we are working on: Handbook, policies, SOP's, trainings, audits, just to name a few
