Electrical Engineer GVM Inc is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Biglerville, PA 17307. Who we are: GVM Inc is a family-owned company with deep roots in the agriculture industry. The company originated from Andgrow, in East Berlin, Pennsylvania. Andgrow was a fertilizer dealership, founded in 1975 by Jack Anderson. Shortly after it's beginning, Jack decided he wanted to be able to offer his employees year-round, full-time employment, so Andgrow began manufacturing foam markers in the 'off-season'. In 1977, Andgrow became GVM, Inc. and we continued to add to our product lines to be a full-service agricultural retailer and snow equipment manufacturer. About the role: The Electrical Engineer is responsible for wire harness, electrical system, and interface designs capable of meeting customer demands for the precision agriculture and snow markets. This individual has overall responsibility for the design, specification, and integration of electrical wiring and architecture. This individual is responsible for the development and communication of software requirements to vendors/software coding partners and the integration of software solutions and systems into mobile machine architecture. Additional responsibilities include electronic/software troubleshooting of current product systems. This position reports to the Biglerville Engineering Manager. What you'll do: * SolidWorks/AutoCad electrical related drawing/schematic creation/maintenance. * Creation and maintenance of assembly procedures and service-related documents. * Manage and release ECR's making appropriate changes to BOMs and CAD models and communicating change to the cross functional team. * Review BOM discrepancies reported by assembly and make appropriate corrections in BOM and 3D models. * Perform root cause analysis following generally accepted problem - solving processes to resolve quality and warranty issues and implement corrective actions. Responsibilities: * Use appropriate techniques, processes, and technology to produce functional and cost-effective wire harnesses and other electrical and control system designs considering applicable safety and environmental regulations and standards. * Use Computer Aided Design and Drafting system (SolidWorks or AutoCad) to prepare schematics and electrical component related drawings for wire harnesses and machine electrical control systems. * Document and communicate software/control system requirements to software development partners. Facilitate and support software development, validation, and troubleshooting with GVM partners/vendors. * Review component designs to ensure cost effectiveness. * Specify design requirements, materials, processes and manage quotations accordingly. * Organizes, manages, and actively participates in projects and assignments necessary to generate and maintain product designs and documentation of product cost. * Generates and maintains models and bill of materials with the accuracy necessary to support accurate inventory and manufacturing product costs. * Manages engineering changes, change documentation, and change process * Supports service and production in the implementation, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical/communication systems on machines * Interface closely with Manufacturing and Purchasing personnel to identify, approve suppliers, conduct design and drawing reviews and deviation requests, and provide support and information as required * Interacts with production to offer opportunities for improved manufacturing process and product related quality * Become familiar with and adhere to GVM policies and procedures. * Travel to distributor and customer sites, supplier facilities, and field test locations to participate in the product evaluation process and to resolve problems, investigate functional issues, explore design alternatives, and provide manufacturing support. Some overseas travel may be required. * Participate in software, policy, and procedure training as required to maintain/increase technical proficiency and stay up-to-date on corporate policies Our ideal candidate: Education and experience * Bachelors' Degree in Electrical Engineering * Minimum 5 years work experience Key Performance Metrics: * Reduce Quality Costs (Rework, Warranty, etc.) * Improve and maintain System-Documentation (CAD model, BOM, and MRP, etc.) quality and accuracy * Reduce Outstanding Engineering Change Requests * Timely resolution to BOM error reports from assembly floor * Reduce Standard and Actual Material Costs What We Offer: * Competitive pay of $60,000/- to $80,000/-; commensurate with experience * 10 days' vacation and sick days * 7 days holiday pay * 401K program - 4% employer match * 6-month disability program To Apply: Please submit your resume via the "APPLY NOW" button
