General Job Description The Human Resources Assistant will be an integral member of our HR team. This position will report to the Human Resources Manager and has a hands-on role in day-to-day human resources activities. The Human Resources Assistant will have the opportunity to provide support in these functional areas: recruiting and onboarding, training and development, benefits, and general administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy, independent judgment, and initiative. This is a full time, non-exempt position in MPR's Alexandria, VA office. Duties/Responsibilities: Serve as a primary point of contact for employees who need general support from HRSupport and assist with administration of benefit programs (eg Open Enrollment)Assist with scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate travel, and creating interview packagesSupport onboarding activities to include developing and compiling orientation packagesAssist with the coordination of training programs to include updating the Learning Management SystemProvide general administrative support, including assisting with the maintenance of files, updating the Human Resources Information System, maintaining spreadsheets, and updating forms and departmental listsAssist with employee morale events and other corporate-sponsored activitiesOther duties as assigned Qualifications: Education Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field preferred ExperienceOne to two years (or strong internship experience) of related and/or administrative experience with an interest in a career in human resources preferred Experience working in a professional services firm is a plusSkills - PersonalSolid communication and time management skillsAbility to work proficiently alone and in teamsAbility to keep sensitive information confidentialGood interpersonal skills dealing with a wide range of individualsDiligent worker with self-initiative and demonstrated effectiveness in completing tasks in a timely way with a proven ability to multi-task and deal with interruptions without losing effectivenessStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsPersistent, questioning attitude and ability to accept that in othersSkills - SoftwareProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsExperience with a Human Resources Information System is a plusExperience with a Learning Management System is a plus MPR must comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as client requirements related to the COVID-19 virus.
