Job Summary/Company:

Our client, a premier nonprofit organization, is looking for a professional Benefits Administrator to join its team. This person will be responsible for managing the administration of the entire association's benefits program, including health, dental, vision, life, retirement, worker's compensation, disability, FMLA, COBRA, and unemployment insurance. Responsibilities:

  • Process all appropriate employee benefits paperwork in the applicable systems
  • Responsible for benefit orientation of new hires
  • Enter payroll changes and deductions related to employee benefits and work directly with an external broker
  • Respond to audit requests, vendor requests/billing and federal government compliance
  • Maintain up-to-date benefit records and ensure federal, state, and organization compliance requirements are consistently met
  • Make recommendations to leadership and implement changes to ensure continued compliance with federal, state, and insurance carrier rules
  • Work collaboratively with payroll administrator to ensure a seamless bi-weekly payroll process
  • Review weekly vendor file submissions from HRIS to carriers to ensure no errors occur


Qualifications/Background Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in HR or similar area
  • Experience with various HRIS platforms
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience with benefit administration within a large market and implementation of programs in compliance with federal and state laws regarding HR practices
  • Full-scale knowledge of state and federal laws relating to benefits, including but not limited to HIPAA, ERISA, and COBRA
