Overview: Grow With Us! The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Benefits Analyst to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to build relationships and service our benefits clients. This position will report to our agency located in Hunt Valley, MD with a virtual schedule. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. Responsibilities: Assist with Key Account market financial related projects and analyses, including:Data gathering for Requests for Proposal (RFP's) and other projectsFormat and analyze census data to prepare RFP's and evaluate employee demographics for proper coverageManage RFP/marketing process to request and analyze carrier benefit and cost proposals under Consultant's direction to align with client marketing strategySpread sheet rates and benefit plan design options for renewal presentations Prepare and analyze loss ratio reports and analyze claims and utilization data to identify trends and key drivers of claimsDevelop claims projections in conjunction with renewal analysesPrepare benefit plan benchmark reports and analysesDevelop and project client's benefits budget as neededAnalyze contribution strategies to align with client's budgetPrepare Healthcare Reform/ACA and other financial or claims analyses impacting the client's benefits budgetAssist Consultant with preparing financial presentations for clientsCoordinate and complete peer reviews of all work to be presented to a clientSupport the management of vendor relationships with marketing assistance and following up on vendor RFPsAssist Benefits Consultants with new and renewal plan implementations, as neededSupport development of best practice templates and maintain updates as neededProactively identify issues requiring action and develop innovative solutions or raise awareness to Benefits Consultants and assist with solution development and implementationMaintain data integrity of account and plan information in agency management system (Benefit Point)Qualifications:Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Actuarial, Risk Management, Mathematics, Statistics, or other related/ analytical degree or related disciplineAbility to analyze data and make appropriate recommendationsDemonstrated ability to independently organize and perform work activities and to simultaneously handle multiple complex projectsStrong computer skills, primarily with Excel, PowerPoint and WordDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingWorking knowledge of Employee Benefit plans and knowledge of benefit plans in general is a plusLicense in Life and Health preferred (if not, the ability to obtain license within 3 months of hire date)Knowledge of or experience with VBA, Sql, or Python is a plus.Benefits: Comprehensive package including Medical, Dental, Vision, LifeLTD, STD 401kVoluntary benefitsGenerous PTOAn awesome team of professionals The Hilb Group is an equal opportunity employer, and we actively support and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws prohibiting all forms of discrimination in employment.
