Are you an organized and detail-oriented accounting professional looking to balance your skills with a passion to help a great cause? AUCD, a national nonprofit organization that supports the disability community, is seeking a new Accounting Assistant to assist the Finance and Operations department with their day-to-day processing.As our Accounting Assistant, you will aid in the monthly closing process, check requests, creating external invoices, monitoring accounts payable and accounts receivable, communicating with vendors and internal departments, administrative support to the operations of the organization and generally ensure that the financial and administrative operations are running smoothly.In this role, you will report to the Chief Financial Officer and work collaboratively across teams within our central office.This will be a unique opportunity for you to exercise your accounting knowledge, interpersonal skills, and initiative in a fast-paced yet relaxed office atmosphere with a team of dedicated, passionate colleagues, all while helping to improve the well-being of all people with developmental and other disabilities.Position RequirementsYou will be qualified for this position if you possess a high school diploma and a minimum of (3) years accounts payable and/or bookkeeping experience in a professional office environment.Knowledge of accounting procedures and principlesSkill in accounts payable and accounts receivable processingSkill in exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and analytical strengthsIntermediate or expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (365, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and a basic understanding of collaboration tools such as Zoom, webinars, and surveys.Familiarity with accounting software required (Sage Intacct experience a plus)You will be considered a preferred candidate if you also have:A Bachelor's degreeNonprofit experienceKnowledge of nonprofit associations and/or membership organizationsKnowledge of federal grantsSalary RangeThe salary range for this position is $50,000 to $65,000.
