Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking a Principal / Test Engineer to join an agile development team designing and building advanced, state-of-the-art, mission planning software for the Mission Planning and Decision Support (MPDS) Operating Unit within the Mission Applications department. This position is located in Hollywood, MD with work performed on-site. Roles & Responsibilities: The Test Engineer will have the following roles and responsibilities: Perform smoke testing, integration testing, regression testing, and formal qualification testing in an agile systems development environment. Document system problems and verify fixes. Design, develop, and maintain system test plans, test cases, test procedures, and automated tests in compliance with program functional, technical, and performance requirements. Work with the lead test engineer and a team of systems engineers and software developers to establish and develop test methods and techniques. Troubleshoot and modify test tools and test scripts. Generate test data, perform test data analysis, and develop test documentation. Perform system integration of COTS, GOTS, and organic hardware and software. Participate in formal inspection process, customer meetings, and user events. Provide support to customer testers during acceptance testing, including test procedure walkthroughs, documentation of testing issues and test results, and answering questions on system functionality. This is a dual level opportunity. We are open to candidates that qualify for a level 2 or level 3. Basic Qualifications Level 2: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: High school diploma or GED equivalent and 6 years of applicable experience. Will also consider BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 2 years of experience or a relevant Master's Degree with 0 years of experience. Active In-Scope DoD Secret Security Clearance that has been granted / renewed within the past 5 years. Ability to obtain and maintain access to special programs. Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance. Basic Qualifications Level 3: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: High school diploma or GED equivalent and 9 years of applicable experience. Will also consider BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 5 years of experience or a relevant Master's Degree with 3 years of experience. Experience with generating test plans, test cases, and test procedures. Experience with test execution, test analysis, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with agile software development. Active In-Scope DoD Secret Security Clearance that has been granted / renewed within the past 5 years. Ability to obtain and maintain access to special programs. Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration: Experience with US DoD mission planning. Experience with Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) Framework (FW). Experience working with agile software development teams. Experience with one or more automated test tools, such as TestComplete and Squish. Experience with collaboration and development tools, such as Microsoft Visio, TeamForge, JIRA, and Confluence. Experience with cloud computing environments. Experience with one or more scripting languages to facilitate automation and tool development. Experience with security architectures, firewalls and network security controls. Current DoD 8570 IAT II Certification (Security+, CEH, CISSP, etc.). Active Top Secret Clearance. #LI-MA1 Salary Range: $74,900 USD - $112,300 USD Salary Range 2: $92,200 USD - $138,400 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
