Currently seeking a motivated Data Engineer to design and optimize data architecture and make data accessible for operationalization and informing decision making.The CompanyThe company's expertise in emerging technologies allows design and delivery of leading-edge products and services that transform traditional, legacy networks into modern, secure, and resilient IT architectures.The company is a Federally recognized, Alaskan Tribal-Owned, 8(a) Certified Entity, whose clients benefit from a unique, cost-effective procurement advantages which enable timely fulfillment of any IT requirement.Seeking a driven Data Engineer to work with a team of software developers, and data scientists on data initiatives and ensure optimal data delivery architecture is reliably consistent throughout ongoing projects.The CompensationTBAThe LocationThis role is a hybrid position that reports to the Program Manager and is located in Springfield, VAThe BenefitsCompany-Sponsored Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance401(k) with Match & Immediate VestingWork/Life Balance via Open Leave PolicyAccess to Education & Training BenefitsThe RoleCreate and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and 'big data' technologies.Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.Conduct analysis, prepare, and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in data across the organization.Research and apply the appropriate and applicable Law, Regulation, and Policy (LRP) related to the execution and compliance of the data architecture.Prepare and/or update process and procedures documents.Prepares written and/or briefed reports to support the activities performed.The Background ProfileU.S. CitizenshipActive DoD Top Secret Security Clearance required with ability to gain Special Access Program (SAP) read-on to work onsiteBachelors' Degree in Relevant Engineering FieldCertifications in Mongo DB, Python, SQL, and common cloud architecture strongly preferred5+ years of data engineering experience2+ years of Department of Defense (DoD) experienceExpertise in Mongo DB, Python, SQL Databasing, and common cloud architectureFamiliarity with common cloud, containerization, indexing, scaling databases, graph analysis to build in automation, efficiency, and implementation of security controlsStrong analytic and research capabilitiesStrong presentation development and delivery and relationship building skills at all levels, including working, managerial, and executiveProficiency in Microsoft Office suiteCOVID-19 vaccination required as condition of employment
