Finance and Risk Data Operations is a global team within the FAIR organization in JP Morgan Chase Company. The team is responsible for ensuring the data sources from multiple risk management systems in the bank is complete, and accurate for the firms regulatory reporting requirements. This is accomplished by monitoring the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of data used for finance and risk reporting. The team designs, implements and operates controls to manage the data flow, and identifies data quality issues for remediation by working with all major lines of businesses and the firm's Chief Data Office. Finance and Risk Data Operations works closely with various internal partners within all lines of business, as well as other group functions including Technology Office, Risk Reporting, Risk Policy, Regulatory Risk, Risk Middle Office, Business Middle Offices, Control & Oversight and the firm wide Data Quality Team. The Loans & Deposits Product Scientist will be part of the Loans & Deposits Asset Class team based in JP Morgan Chase's North American Regional Hub located in Newark, Delaware. The analyst will be part of a dynamic team that is engaged in production support, managing the firms data management strategy, and participating the firmwide financial roadmap. The role involves interaction with all levels of the organization, with frequent presentations to senior MDs within the Treasury/Finance Office. The role offers tremendous growth opportunities. Responsibilities: Support the daily and monthly regulatory reporting activities for daily and monthly Liquidity, Credit, and Financial Risk reporting. Analyze and Investigate daily/monthly data quality issues that may impact Liquidity Risk, Credit Risk, and Finance Risk process. Ensure all operational controls are being performed per the operating model, and all activities are in line with the firms governance / internal control policies. Partner with the firm's Program & Technology office to support all infrastructure development and testing as required. Partner with the lines of business to understand key business drivers, infrastructure, and products, to help identify potential business risks and assist with the creation of process efficiencies. Partner with existing reporting teams to document the current process (system architecture, data flow, reconciliations, controls, etc.). Represent operations at meetings with technology and projects/LOB teams. Provide project management support on projects for processes related to data management and financial reporting Regularly present metrics and KPIs to senior leadership team to share production updates. Create process documents, analyze data profiling trends, and perform data mining tasks to pinpoint anomalies/gaps in the Loans/Deposits data models. Own and review data quality exceptions for regulatory reporting requirements. Work with lines of business and stakeholders to resolve assigned data quality exceptions. Collaborate with other team members and peers to drive resolution of data quality and systemic issues across all risk management. Partner with regional leadership team to identify and solve resource gaps, highlight and resolve barriers. Role Specific Tasks: Reconcile month end data from upstream risk management systems to the bank's general ledger. Develop, Test, and Monitor Data Validations rules designed to detect gap gaps against the firm's reference data. Act as a point of contact for LOBs and data consumers to provide explanations on reconciliation breaks, data validation failure, commentaries, and sign offs. Analyze and review data leveraging Microsoft Office products such as Excel, PPT, and Word. Develop scorecards to provide transparency into reconciliation breaks and data quality issues linking them to top side adjustments, and tracking their progress for remediation. Analyze issues impacting reporting timelines/variances for multiple LOBs and provide updates to senior management on root causes and paths to remediation. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Required (Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Information Systems, or Business Administration degree preferred). Master's Degree preferred but not required 3+ years of experience in financial services operations capacity Sound knowledge of financial products suites. Excellent written and verbal communications; clearly communicate complex topics at all organizational levels. Problem solving and decision-making skills. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office products (Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Access, SQL. 3+ years of experience using MS Excel. Proficiency with semi-complex formulas, and macro creation. Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and commitment to deliver under tight deadlines. Strong leadership and time management skills. Candidate must display an ability to be organized, thorough, and "Can-do" attitude. Candidate should be a good listener, as well think outside box when presented to complex problems. Candidate should be able to take step back, breakdown complex business problems into smaller components; and devise solutions. Strong team player able to work with all levels of employees. Self - motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Collaborative working style. Experience in Financial Operations and/or Middle Office and knowledge of the Credit, Liquidity, Finance and/or Regulatory Reporting. Financial modeling experience is desired but not required for this role.
