Duties

Major Duties and Responsibilities (MDRs)

Identify and resolve sensitive security related issues and concerns, serving as an Area Security Officer (ASO) for one or more Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) components.

Plan and participate in the identification and resolution of complex or sensitive security related issues and concerns, serving as an ODNI Security Area Security Officer (ASO).

Facilitate collaboration between ODNI Security and CIA partners when needed.

Collect and analyze complex security related information, utilizing knowledge of ODNI policies, ICDs, and SEADs to develop recommendations and guidance.

Interview personnel and conduct investigations of security incidents.

Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the ODNI Security program and provide recommendations to bolster security.

Provide security briefings to educate the workforce (includes staff and contractor EOD, operational security briefings, and One Time Access briefings).

Cultivate and maintain productive working relationships with security colleagues, CIA counterparts, and ODNI senior leadership to share information of interest, explain the specifics of security programs/processes/procedures, and negotiate common ground when required.

Conduct other security duties, as needed, as a member of the ODNI Security Group.

Applicants may be considered for this position as a reimbursable detailee, if endorsed by the employing agency. Applicants must have current TS/SCI clearances with polygraph or have the ability to obtain one. The ODNI does not conduct polygraphs or provide security clearances for detailees.

Qualifications

Mandatory and Educational Requirements

Thorough knowledge of personnel, physical and technical security principles, concepts, regulations, and practices sufficient to serve in an ASO capacity for one or more ODNI components.

Extensive knowledge of IC and ODNI security regulations, policies, and procedures in order to address and resolve ODNI security issues, violations, and questions.

Ability to manage a complex security program, assess customer requirements, identify dependencies, and manage risk.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse customer base and establish partnerships.

Desired Requirements

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, critical thinking, and problem solving skills to build and leverage professional networks; and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
