Job Summary
Aptive is seeking a change practitioner for a Change Management Thought Leader position. This individual will lead and conduct change management activities in support of Veterans Health Administration (VHA) initiatives, to include organizing and facilitating a large community of practice and collaborating with clinical and administrative personnel about best practices. Prosci® certification is very highly desired. Remote work location is possible for the right candidate.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VHA, requires professional support services to assist the Deputy Under Secretary of Health (DUSH)-who is accountable for specific health care programs enabling and supporting virtually every aspect of patient care provided to Veterans-- with the development, administration, and management of various emerging initiatives, some of which are legislatively mandated. Aptive serves as the Veterans Health Administration's (VHA) strategic partner to transform the country's largest and most complex organizations - with 1,600 care sites across 50 states and a staff of approximately 300,000 employees caring for over six million Veterans - into a clinically led, outcome-focused, and technology-enabled organization.

Primary Responsibilities
- Performs tasks requiring the knowledge and skills for a multidisciplinary approach to managing change and transition within a large, complex healthcare organization with numerous programs and projects
- Tasks may include developing change management plans adapted to customer need, including plans associated with transition management, implementation of major initiatives, communications associated with major initiatives, risk assessment, organizational transformation, and culture change
- Complete change management assessments and change management strategies; identify and manage anticipated resistance; create actionable deliverables, such as a communication plan, roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, or resistance management plan
- Support client directors/managers with high-level, cross-functional focus and assistance.
- Integrate change management activities into project plan
- Evaluate and ensure user readiness; manage stakeholders; track and report issues; define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress
- Perform routine and ad-hoc change management tactics to meet customer needs
- Assist in the developing and conducting stakeholder analysis, impact analysis, and implementation planning, and provide input on the associated risks resulting from the change activities in the organization
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years of organizational change management experience, preferably in a large/complex healthcare environment and government setting.
- Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred
- Fluent in the KirkPatrick Model
- Understanding of Prosci® change practitioner training curriculum, preferably with practical healthcare experiences and examples in change management.
- Ability to analyze technical information and communicate results, issues, risks, and impacts in a concise manner to a diverse audience.
- Strong in communicating in an organized and knowledgeable manner in written and verbal formats, including presenting to senior executives, developing lasting relationships, delivering clear requests for information, and communicating potential conflicts.
- Experience supporting large, complex federal agencies; ideally VA or DoD
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
- Ability to interact and engage with Executive-level stakeholders
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S
Desired Qualifications
- Prosci® Change Management Certification and completed/or in the process of completing Prosci® Advanced Practitioner training highly preferred
- Experience supporting the Veterans Health Administration
- Knowledge of military and Veteran populations
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Experience with VHA Central Office
- Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and work well with others
- Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas, and solutions logically both written and orally
- Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
- Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail
