Boeing Defense Space & Security has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer 2, to join us as part of our DRT team located in Germantown, Md. Boeing DRT develops and manufactures software defined radios (SDRs) in support of Government agencies and the military. Our core mission is to continue a 20+ year tradition of supporting our technical partners around the world by defining the state-of-the-art Radio Frequency (RF) operations solutions. The Manufacturing Engineer will have an excellent opportunity to experience the entire product lifecycle while building the most advanced SDRs available to our technical partners. This position will provide the candidate an opportunity to develop engineering skills with potential growth into a leadership role. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineering Team works collaboratively with other Engineering departments within DRT to develop and integrate mission systems capabilities for our customers. Position Responsibilities Assists in the development and implementation of production and tooling methodologies Participates as a member of a Production Engineering team in the integration of technical solutions Works with others to optimize the build, test, and troubleshooting processes for DRT electronic products. Assists in implementing manufacturing plans Resolves technical hardware and software problems associated with the building and testing of DRT electronic products. Interfaces with professional associations, suppliers, IPTs, and internal customers to develop products, skills, knowledge and experience This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 CFR | 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience) Bachelor's Degree or higher in an engineering or science related field 2+ years' experience working in an engineering field Strong oral and written communications skills Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) 2+ years' experience testing and troubleshooting of digital and RF circuitry 2+ years' experience with software defined radios Typical Education/Experience Bachelor's degree and typically 2 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
