A successful Senior Risk Manager operates from a foundation of knowledge about the Line of Business with whom they are working, laws / regulations, processes and associated controls, and good risk management practices. You will have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to work with senior Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company. The successful candidate will be an experienced risk management professional who understands technology functions and organizations, with strong analytical, planning, strategic thinking, organizational and communication skills. As a Senior Risk Manager in Capital One's Enterprise Services (ES) Risk Office (ES Risk, first line of defense), you will be responsible for working with business partners to identify, assess, and consult on potential risks to Capital One, when it comes to enterprise-level technology/cyber initiatives. Specifically, in this position, you will play a key role in enhancing our risk management processes across Capital One through our Material Technology and Cyber Change (MTC) and New Products, Marketing Initiatives and Governance (NPMIG) programs. This includes driving project and program delivery, and influencing outcomes supporting the wider Technology and Cyber Risk Strategy for Capital One. You will collaborate closely with associates and senior Executives across all lines of defense, Lines of Businesses, and other risk management teams to perform and support the work related to further maturing risk management practices, including leading and implementing risk management tools and frameworks for the organization, as well as managing a sustainable and mature process to identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor change initiatives across the enterprise. Your contributions will drive organizational change through risk identification, measurement, analysis and reporting in order to better manage the company's risk in an open and collaborative environment. Responsibilities: Drive and coordinate work related to Capital One's cybersecurity program enhancement efforts, working with the first line of defense Technology and Cyber teams, Lines of Business, and second line of defense risk management teams, to ensure effective collaboration within the team and across stakeholder groups Be a trusted advisor and drive effective and relevant Tech and Cyber risk conversations Help to enhance Integrated and Cyber Governance Risk Management processes across Capital One by providing thought leadership, oversight, and coordination with other risk management activities across the company Analyze information to proactively identify risks, trends, and process improvements; supporting reporting on risk topics to management Stay current on the changing regulatory environment and understand the impacts to our efforts Assist and drive project and program delivery, including project and process management, reporting, engagement in senior leadership meetings, drafting and reviewing materials for senior management and the Board of directors, and other governance activities. Participate in risk and other management forums and contribute to continuous improvement of risk and project / program management practices. Support direction, manage expectations, and may support/lead cross-functional teams through various initiatives, including oversight of third party resources. Support interactions with Internal Audit and Regulatory agencies related to our work, as applicable. Write and revise documents such as policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines. Develop and enhance processes, tools, templates, and job aides. Draft, contribute to, edit, and deliver presentations that aid in the design, development, refinement, and usage of risk methods. Participate in and execute other special projects for the team on a periodic basis. This role requires the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in clear, concise, actionable manner through both written products and verbal communications. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or military experience At least 6 years experience in fields of Cybersecurity, Technology, Risk Management, or Cyber Internal or External Audit, or a combination At least 6 years of experience planning and leading IT audits and risk assessments, or a combination At least 3 years of project or process management experience At least 3 years of People Management experience At least 1 year working in an Agile environment Preferred Qualifications: At least 7 years experience in Cybersecurity, Technology, Risk Management or Cyber Internal or External Audit, or a combination At least 4 years of project management experience leading cross functional projects and programs At least 4 years of experience in information security or technology risk identifications and assessments associated with new or changed initiatives At least 4 years of experience with analysis of information security or technology threats and risks At least 2 years of experience with information security, technology policies, standards, or procedures Background in the financial services industry Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, or Masters Certificate of Project Management (CPM) Ability to set direction, manage expectations, and lead cross-functional teams Ability to communicate and influence clearly and to interact effectively at all levels of the organization Excellent problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively respond to shifting priorities, demands and timelines Proficient with G Suite, Google Workspace for reports, analysis, and presentations is a plus At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
