Operations Specialist - Study AbroadThe Operations Specialist is responsible for all study abroad student registration and course approval, managing course equivalency tables of partner institution curriculum using best practices, and liaising with academic and administrative units on course administration issues.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities: Student Registration Process registrations for all outgoing and incoming study abroad participants and process changes in student registration; andTimely and accurate student registration of all students.Curriculum IntegrationMonitor university, college, and departmental policies related to student registration such as credit load, grade point average, and overload requirements;Liaise with academic departments and administrative units regarding course equivalencies;Create and manage the course equivalency databases;Manage the study abroad course credit transfer process;Maintain departmental and college contact for course approval and transfer credit review; andManage study abroad course creation process.Performance ExpectationsUniversity policies relating to course registration and creation are followed and conveyed to appropriate program staff in a timely manner;Students accurately registered in a timely manner; andCourse equivalency tables are accurate.Data ManagementCollect and analyze course registration data of current and past programs.Required Qualifications:Demonstrated skill in effective oral and written communication;Demonstrated ability to employ logic to solve problems;Demonstrated ability to process large volumes of work, while maintaining a high level of accuracy; andAbility to perform work with a significant attention to detail.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with the Ellucian Banner student information system;Experience with academic programs and their requirements;Experience with degree evaluation and/or student information system software; andAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment with conflicting priorities.
