Job SummaryAmentum is looking for a Department Manager to join our team in McLean, VA. As the Department Manager, you will lead and manage a functional department within an operation. Participates in developing, interpreting, and implementing policies and procedures for the Operation in accordance with established policies and procedures. Perform the function of capture manager in assigned markets and targets. Provide program management in completion of multiple contracts.Must be a US Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph government security clearance. Essential Responsibilities:Supervises the department staff including ensuring staff is adequately trained; coordinate workloads, priorities, and schedules to ensure timely and effective completion of work; and monitors and evaluates staff performanceDirects the compilation of reports and distributes as requiredPlans, organizes and administers department function to meet contractual requirements and company policyHelps establish and administer site specific operational policiesReports department activities and results as specified in the contracts or as required by managementPrepares technical and financial proposals for new or additional workOversees the department to ensure fulfillment of contract requirementsIdentify, investigate, and coordinate development of new application (market) areas for division's technical capabilitiesEstablish and maintain liaison with other company divisions, other companies, organizations, academic institutions, and Government agenciesPerform the functions of a capture manager in assigned markets and business thrust areasDevelop, coordinate and execute plans that involve the development of new work from existing contracts. Assist contract mangers and their customers in doing the sameProvide administrative and/or technical leadership in the completion of multiple contracts, including responsibility for cost, schedule and overall performanceInterface with customers on a regular basis for support of administrative, engineering, and/or program management activities. Monitor customer feedback and advise on a broad range of issues related to products/services being deliveredParticipate in business development including identifying new business opportunities, developing and implementing strategies and managing proposal developmentPerform all other position related duties as assigned or requestedMinimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, Project, Facility Management or other relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent and 10 years relative experience with 3 years in a lead or supervisory/management role.Must possess an advanced, trade-specific licensing.Knowledge of federal government service contracting process and associated local, state, federal, and other regulations.Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.Position may require travel.Must be a US Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph government security clearance. Preferred Qualifications Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is recommended.
