Description The Park Police Division of the Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking a talented, self-motivated, team player to fill a key role providing direct technical support of electronic security systems within the agency. The selected candidate will possess direct hands-on experience necessary to provide installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting support for multiple integrated security platforms including but not limited to, video surveillance, access control, intrusion, fire, emergency call, and central station systems. The candidate will also possess a strong background in IT systems and infrastructure, network diagnostics, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and other skills necessary to provide reliable system assurance. Excellent customer service skills are a necessity for this position. The responsibilities of this position involve working independently or in a team environment to manage the security needs of the agency. Examples of Important Duties Provide general oversight and guidance to access, video, central station managers and security technicians;Provide coordination, planning, and project management of security system headend migrations and upgrades;Ensure updates, patches, user accounts, and passwords are maintained and up to date;Install and maintain access control, intrusion, and video systems. Responding to routine and emergency requests;Maintain and troubleshoot IP and analog based systems communication equipment;Establish Internet/Intranet addressing of security devices and components;Provide on site programming and troubleshooting assistance as needed; reboots, firmware updates, configuration changes, etc.;Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and testing of access, intrusion and video systems to ensure reliable operation;Provide on site user training and technical direction to Commission staff in the proper operation of security systems;Survey project sites and providing rough system designs and as-built drawings;Assist with coordination of maintenance and installation work with MNCPPC's contracted security Integrator, providing direction and technical assistance as needed;Assist with inventory and materials acquisition;Participate as necessary in the development and implementation of long-range automation plans for a division/department. Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management Systems, or any related field.Five (5) years of experience in information technology support functions.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which together total seven (7) years.Depending upon area of assignment, a valid driver's license in accordance with both State and Commission rules and regulations. Driver's license must be unencumbered by restrictions, revocations, suspensions, or points that could limit the employee's ability to drive Commission vehicles or perform driving duties required by the position of assignment.Pass Commission medical examination. Supplemental Information Classification/Specification- IT Telecom Support Specialist IIIThe preferred technical qualifications are:Certifications in any of the following systems; Avigilon Control Center, Interlogix Truvision Navigator, UTC Lenel OnGuard, UTC MasterMind, Milestone, UTC Stentofon; knowledge of firewalls, routers, and switches, TCP-IP (v4/v6) protocol, workstation and server setup, Windows OS, SQL; as well as equivalent experience with other enterprise level video, integrated access control, intrusion, emergency call, fire, and central station systems. Working Conditions Work is performed In a variety of environments; office, mechanical, MDF/IDF, outdoors, etc. Work involves walking, standing, bending, crouching, climbing ladders, and carrying of equipment and supplies.
