Duties

As a/an Recapitalization Program Specialist, you will:

- Initiate and provide technical advice, guidance and interpretation of policies and procedures on Office of Recapitalization programs for staff and external stakeholders.
- Prepare comprehensive reports concerning the effectiveness of Office of Recapitalization programs, which may include responses to program audits.
- Respond to requests for waivers and special consideration of complex recapitalization transactions and prepares waiver requests.
- Plan, initiate, and conduct comprehensive analytical studies of affordable housing recapitalization programs for the purpose of evaluating the effectiveness of current policies and procedures with a view towards the development of significant improvements in policy or procedures.

The official duty station for this position will be in Chicago, Illinois and Washington, District of Columbia. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.

  • Qualifications

    You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

    For the GS-14, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

    - Drafting and development of policies for Housing Programs; AND
    - Leading group projects or being on point for initiatives with multiple team members; AND
    - Making presentations to senior staff members


    Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    • A one year probationary period may be required.
    • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
    • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency
