Skillbridge Intern - Human Resources Coordinator
Overview: Steampunk is seeking a Skillbridge Intern - Human Resources Coordinator to support our corporate and internal customers in Tysons Corner, VA. The primary responsibilities of the position are to provide administrative support to the Human Resources and Staffing teams as well as other corporate departments. The nature of the work requires that the candidate demonstrate initiative, organization, responsibility, customer service skills, and the ability to be flexible and adaptive to a fast-paced, growing and fluid business environment. The candidate will work across Steampunk to devise and implement processes; review and update existing processes; and perform internal audits of processes to ensure alignment with corporate standards. The candidate must be able to communicate professionally, effectively and decisively with all levels of the organization, and be able to solve practical problems as well as exercise sound judgement with regard to sensitive and confidential information. Contributions: Support Process Improvement efforts in HR & Talent AcquisitionSupport efforts to implement and comply with ISO and CMMI standardsSupport the new employee system set-up, on-boarding, orientation, and follow-up of new employeesPrepare various HR-related correspondence and reports which may include confidential employee informationReply to inquiries from internal customers via phone and/or email in a timely mannerProvide assistance on payroll-related processes and projectsAssist in coordinating various HR-related events and programs, such as open enrollment, weekly employee spotlights, benefit and policy updates, etc. Support HR transaction processing and data base (HRIS) administration to ensure timely and accurate completion of updates, and maintaining accurate accountsCoordinate and prepare various corporate mailings to employeesSupport other HR programs or corporate functions as assignedFiles documents into appropriate employee files.Coordinates tuition and training reimbursement Qualifications: Qualifications:Minimum 1 - 3 years of administration experienceBasic knowledge of Human Resources principlesKnowledge/experience with process improvementAbility to prioritize and work independentlyActive Duty Military Active participant the Skillbridge ProgramBachelor's Degree Proven track record of working in a fast-paced, complex, and deadline-oriented environment.Must be results oriented and have the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Preferred skills: Proficiency with MS OfficeExperience with ICIMSExperience with ADP WorkforceNowExperience with Trello or Kanban BoardsClearance Requirement: NoneSteampunk is a federal contractor subject to Executive Order 14042 and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.223-99 implementing the order.
