Job Description: NetImpact Strategies is seeking a Software Asset Manager to join our talent IT team for a new engagement with a Federal Agency. This personwill be responsible for receiving, managing, and tracking all IT Software assets. Provides daily and long-term management of software managed. This includes planning, monitoring, recording, and tracking software licenses to ensure compliance with license agreements and usage standards, service agreements, maintenance and warranties. The individual will assist in forming procurement strategies to optimize technology spend across the organization. The IT Software Asset Manager will also develop and implement procedures for tracking IT software assets across the enterprise. This position is responsible for the interaction and engagement with the Asset Management federal lead and COR (when necessary). Responsibilities include:Developing and maintaining well documented policies, standards, processes, controls, and workflows that enable software asset management throughout all stages of the software lifecycleEntering and maintaining information on software assets into the approved asset tracking system to address budgeting, software compliance & inventory, contracts (maintenance and service agreements), and cost. Assist in the development of reporting to address management requirements to obtain informationProviding recommendations for software procurements based on utilization and support needsServing as a liaison with other departments as necessary to forecast future technology needsIdentifying savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and servicesAssisting with the implementation, management and use of software discovery processes and procedures to aid in accurately tracking software deployedWorking with Configuration Management, Change Management and the ServiceNow teams to utilize discovery and normalization to track softwareDefining metrics, gather data, and reports effectiveness of IT software asset management processes andProviding recommendations for improvements that will aid in effectively and efficiently managing software assets throughout the enterprise.
