Kforce has a client in Silver Spring, MD that is seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist.Responsibilities: * The Senior Accounting Specialist will maintain time and attendance function for Fellows and Interns, adding or deleting cost centers, and pre-populating data as needed; Review time and attendance batches * Maintain ADP onboarding and off-boarding process for Fellows and Interns in ADP * Enter all approved transactions/changes into ADP, ensuring that Fellows and Interns are paid their stipends timely and correctly with supporting documentation that is adequate and complete * Prepare bi-weekly journal entries to record paid stipends * As a Senior Accounting Specialist, you will serve as liaison to staff for Fellows and Interns stipend payment issues; Respond to staff regarding all questions related stipends * Prepare and submit federal tax withholding and state tax withholding if needed * Maintain lists of authorized timesheet and payment approvers * Prepare year end stipend statements to paid Fellows and Interns * The Senior Accounting Specialist will prepare other accounting transactions related to Fellow and Internship Program such as travel reimbursement; moving expenses; professional development and other expense reimbursements * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (Finance, Economics, etc.) required * Minimum two years of experience related accounting Kforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
